Broadway

As you walk through the streets of New York City, you’ll notice that Broadway is bustling with activity. The street is home to some of the most famous theatres in the world and is one of the most popular tourist destinations for visitors from around the globe.

Museums

The city’s museums are just as impressive. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) houses an impressive collection of modern art, including pieces by Picasso, Matisse and Warhol. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is home to over 2 million pieces from all over the world and has galleries dedicated solely to Egyptian antiquities or European paintings.

The Whitney Museum of American Art features contemporary works by some of today’s most important artists like Alexander Calder and Jasper Johns; it also hosts special exhibitions throughout the year. If you’re looking for something more unique than traditional art museums but still want something that fits New York City’s vibe then check out one of these smaller institutions: The American Museum of Natural History offers everything from dinosaur bones to meteorites while also housing an aquarium with penguins! Music Venues

New York City is home to some of the best music venues in the country. From Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall and Bowery Ballroom (where Bob Dylan played his first gig) to Brooklyn Bowl (where you can bowl while watching your favorite band play) there’s something for every taste.

• Madison Square Garden – Home to The New York Knicks basketball team as well as concerts by top artists such as Beyonce, Jay-Z and U2
• Radio City Music Hall – Built in 1932 this historic venue hosts everything from opera performances to rock concerts
• Bowery Ballroom – Located on Manhattan’s Lower East Side this multi-level club hosts local bands along with national acts like Vampire Weekend who got their start here
• Brooklyn Bowl – Located near Barclays Center this bowling alley/concert venue offers up quality food & drink along with live music every night of the week
• Terminal 5 – Located at JFK Airport this concert hall was formerly known as Studio 54 before becoming a popular spot for indie bands such as Vampire Weekend who have performed here many times over

Theatres

Theatre is a form of live performance that’s performed in front of an audience. It can be for entertainment or education, and it can be intended for adults or children. Theatres are spaces where theatre happens; they’re usually designed with this purpose in mind.

Galleries/Art Centers

• Guggenheim Museum, which houses a collection that includes works by Picasso, Renoir and Kandinsky among other greats.
• Metropolitan Museum of Art (the MET) is one of the largest art museums in the world and located in Midtown Manhattan near Central Park. It has over two million pieces in its permanent collection alone! The MET is also home to “The David Hockney Drawings” exhibit now through January 6th 2019 – so if you’re interested in seeing some amazing works by this British artist then this would be an ideal time to visit New York City!

The Solomon R Guggenheim Museum houses modern artworks within its walls; however it’s most famous piece may actually be inside: Frank Lloyd Wright designed his iconic spiral staircase here back in 1959 after being commissioned by Solomon R Guggenheim himself! If you want to see more than just paintings then check out some old masters at The Frick Collection too – another museum worth checking out if only because it’s free admission every day except Friday evenings when they charge $25 per ticket instead ($20 per child).

Performing Arts Centers

The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a complex of buildings in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. It hosts many events each year, including concerts and performances by popular artists as well as classical music, opera, dance and theater productions. The center consists of four primary structures: David Geffen Hall (opened 1962); David H. Koch Theater (opened 2004); Vivian Beaumont Theater (opened 1966) which houses two theaters; Avery Fisher Hall (opened 1964) which offers a recital hall.[1]

The size and scope of this center make it one of the largest performing arts centers in America.[2]
